Overview
The Salesforce Data Migration Architect will play a crucial role in facilitating the migration of data between Salesforce organizations. This contractor will oversee the entire migration data workstream, utilizing Microsoft SQL Server for data transformation and staging processes while ensuring a successful transition. Working remotely and closely with various stakeholders, the candidate will apply their technical expertise to ensure data integrity and compliance with governance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Own the migration data workstream, managing from profiling to production cutover.
- Profile source Salesforce data, analyzing volumes, quality, and dependencies.
- Produce detailed object- and field-level mapping documents.
- Design and maintain SQL Server staging databases for data extraction and transformation.
- Write, optimize, and test T-SQL for data cleansing and transformation.
- Execute migration processes, including error handling and re-runs.
- Plan migration cycles and conduct production cutover activities, including rollback planning.
- Design reconciliation checks and manage migration risks related to data handling.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data migrations between Salesforce or from other systems into Salesforce.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce data models and functionalities.
- Extensive SQL Server and T-SQL expertise, including stored procedures and performance tuning.
- Experience with Salesforce data extraction and loading tools like Data Loader and Bulk API.
- Methodical skills in data profiling, cleansing, and mapping with an emphasis on reconciliation.
- Understanding of GDPR and secure data handling practices.
- Excellent communication abilities to convey technical concepts to stakeholders.
- Salesforce certifications and experience in Agile methodologies are desirable.
