Overview
The SC Cleared Network Security Engineer will take on a crucial role in managing and optimizing the enterprise security infrastructure for the organization. Working fully remote, the contractor will collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors to oversee firewall and network security changes, ensuring high levels of performance and stability across complex systems. This position requires technical expertise and a strategic approach to resolve security incidents while delivering comprehensive documentation and design solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical ownership of the enterprise security infrastructure.
- Act as the senior technical authority for firewall, network security, and secure access changes.
- Produce and maintain High Level Designs (HLDs) and Low Level Designs (LLDs).
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex security incidents.
- Support data center network projects, ensuring infrastructure best practices are followed.
- Coordinate with vendors to restore service and minimize business impact.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Zscaler, and F5 technologies.
- Strong understanding of firewall technologies and VPN solutions.
- Experience in producing technical documentation and managing complex infrastructure changes.
- Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and WAN technologies.
- Desirable experience with Check Point, Juniper, and Cisco networking.
- Understanding of secure remote access and network security best practices.
