Overview
The Senior Analytics Engineer will be responsible for delivering analytics-ready data solutions that enhance financial reporting and business decision-making across the organization. This contract position focuses on transforming complex data into scalable models, working closely with both finance and technical teams to ensure data integrity and usability. The role will leverage Azure-based technologies and aim to build robust data architectures that support operational reporting and self-service analytics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable analytics data models to support FP&A and financial reporting.
- Develop transformation workflows using SQL and modern cloud-based platforms to create trusted datasets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into scalable data models.
- Take ownership of fragmented datasets, structuring them for reporting and analytics use.
- Build and optimize semantic layers to enhance dashboards and operational reporting.
- Model financial and investment data across various sectors including loans and real estate.
- Apply best practices in data modeling, governance, and quality assurance.
- Support the evolution of the organization's data platform and establish analytics engineering standards.
Requirements
- Strong experience working in a financial planning and analysis context within asset management or investment.
- Excellent SQL skills with significant experience in building complex analytical data models.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling and warehouse design.
- Proven track record of transforming complex source data into robust models for analytics.
- Experience collaborating with finance and FP&A stakeholders, with a solid understanding of financial data.
- Familiarity with Azure-based data platforms, particularly Microsoft Fabric and Synapse.
- Exposure to BI and reporting environments to support dashboards and analytics.
- Experience building or evolving data platforms rather than just maintaining existing reports.
