Overview
The SC Cleared AWS DevOps / Platform Engineer will play a vital role in supporting a client's engineering team on a contract basis, primarily working remotely with occasional travel to Hampshire. The contractor will leverage their extensive experience in AWS, CI/CD processes, and container orchestration to enhance cloud infrastructure management and deployment practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy cloud infrastructure within AWS environments.
- Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and ArgoCD.
- Work with Kubernetes and Docker for containerized environments management.
- Utilize Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and Packer for machine image management.
- Manage Kubernetes applications with Helm, and leverage JFrog in the development pipeline.
- Implement monitoring solutions using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
- Support platform engineering activities through Python scripting and automation.
- Adhere to modern software development practices, including Conventional Commits and version control.
Requirements
- Active SC clearance is required.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and Docker containerization.
- Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD and ArgoCD.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Packer.
- Familiarity with Helm and JFrog for application management.
- Proficient in Python for scripting and automation.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
