Senior Azure Security Engineer

Overview

The Senior Azure Security Engineer will play a critical role in the Cyber Security team of a leading professional services firm, focusing on enhancing security across Azure and the Microsoft security ecosystem. This position involves hands-on design and implementation work, particularly centered on Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, and Entra ID, and aims to strengthen cloud and identity security controls while improving overall monitoring and telemetry strategies. The role is suited for those with strong enterprise-level experience in Azure security engineering and a deep understanding of the relevant tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security measures across Azure and Microsoft ecosystems.
• Engineer Sentinel detections and KQL queries to enhance security analytics.
• Strengthen cloud and identity security controls to mitigate risks.
• Develop and implement security automation solutions.
• Improve monitoring and telemetry for cloud environments.
• Support the design of secure cloud and hybrid architectures.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure adherence to security best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Azure Security Engineer in an enterprise environment.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR.
• Practical experience with Entra ID, KQL, and PowerShell.
• Strong understanding of APIs and security automation practices.
• Ability to design secure cloud and hybrid systems.
