Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Node.js Developer to join an innovative SaaS team focused on developing a new greenfield platform. This role involves collaboration within a small development team to deliver high-quality backend solutions, primarily utilizing Node.js and Typescript. The position offers flexibility, with mostly remote work and some in-office meetings in Manchester, designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to transformative SaaS offerings.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain robust backend solutions primarily using Node.js and Typescript.
- Collaborate closely with the product team to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Work through a backlog of tickets efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of features and improvements.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices to support the platform's functionality.
- Integrate cloud services and manage deployment processes on AWS.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and sprint planning to ensure high-quality output.
- Maintain documentation of technical specifications and system architecture.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure platform stability and performance.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in backend development using Node.js and Typescript.
- Proficiency with cloud services, particularly AWS, including deployment, scaling, and management of cloud-based applications.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and managing a ticket-driven development process.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of database management, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Optional but beneficial experience with frontend technologies such as React or Next.js.
