Overview
As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to major infrastructure projects within the UK water sector, focusing on the design and delivery of water and wastewater schemes, including pipelines and treatment facilities. Working remotely, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and provide high-quality, innovative engineering solutions while supporting the professional development of junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver civil engineering designs for water and wastewater projects.
- Produce and review design calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Support multidisciplinary design activities ensuring effective integration across engineering disciplines.
- Ensure design outputs comply with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical support to procurement, construction, and site teams.
- Contribute to engineering governance and maintain quality across project deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Attend design reviews, meetings, and site visits as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in the municipal water and wastewater sector.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater assets and systems.
- Understanding of health and safety legislation and industry regulations.
- Experience with engineering calculations and design documentation.
- Knowledge of structural design for water-retaining structures.
- Strong communication and technical report-writing skills.
