Overview
The Senior Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing a cloud data platform for a growing data function. This contract position, requiring immediate start, focuses on modernizing data infrastructure and improving engineering standards while delivering scalable data solutions. The contractor will collaborate closely with both technical and business stakeholders to foster high-quality data product delivery and drive technical improvements within a cloud environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using modern Data Engineering best practices.
- Develop scalable, reusable, and well-documented data solutions.
- Support the evolution of cloud-based data infrastructure and tooling.
- Implement engineering standards across data platforms, including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.
- Contribute to platform improvements, performance optimization, and overall data platform maturity.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer within cloud-first environments.
- Strong background in delivering platform improvements, migrations, or modernization projects.
- Experience designing robust, scalable, and maintainable data pipelines.
- Comfortable influencing engineering best practices and mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
- Proficient in Python, DBT, Snowflake, Airflow, Azure, and Terraform.
