Overview
We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Identity Engineer to engage with a UK regulated investment firm, focusing on identity governance and access management within Microsoft 365 and associated platforms. You will collaborate with our delivery lead and the client’s technology team to analyze and enhance access controls, ensuring compliance and security across their cloud data environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact through hands-on technical work and structured quarterly reviews.
Responsibilities
- Run access reviews across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID, recording the results.
- Identify and resolve broad access issues, including open SharePoint sites and obsolete accounts.
- Develop PowerShell and Microsoft Graph scripts to automate permission checks quarterly.
- Analyze access permissions in cloud data platforms like Snowflake using SQL.
- Prepare detailed evidence packs documenting checks, findings, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with the client's system owners to implement agreed changes safely.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in identity, Microsoft 365, or infrastructure roles.
- At least 4 years of focused experience on identity and access management.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Entra ID, including groups, guest access, and conditional access.
- In-depth knowledge of SharePoint and Teams permissions, including sharing links and inherited access.
- Proficient in writing PowerShell scripts and utilizing Microsoft Graph.
- Experience with SQL querying for permission audits.
- Knowledge of Snowflake is a plus.
- Right to work in the UK and capability to operate through your own limited company.
