Azure Cloud Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic technology team focused on the development and enhancement of cloud platforms and services. This fully remote contract position involves designing, building, and managing secure and scalable cloud environments primarily using Microsoft Azure, with potential for AWS integration. The ideal candidate will collaborate with technical teams to ensure that new services are effectively implemented and production-ready.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and improve Azure cloud platforms and services.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or similar.
• Build automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement cloud networking, security, identity and governance controls.
• Support cloud architecture and new technology implementation.
• Build and deploy infrastructure and platform services supporting Product and Data solutions.
• Provide specialist technical support and escalation for complex cloud platform issues.
• Contribute to monitoring, documentation, platform standards and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Proficient in Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar CI/CD tooling.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and platform engineering.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and security practices.
• Experience with identity and access management.
• Proficient in PowerShell, Python or similar scripting languages.
• Understanding of cloud governance, monitoring, and platform standards.
