Overview
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the mobile platform team, working on a UK government app. Your focus will be on implementing infrastructure changes and configurations in a cloud environment, collaborating closely with a senior engineer and contributing to the app's functionalities and support services. This contract position provides valuable hands-on experience in AWS while working primarily in a remote capacity, with occasional in-person collaboration in London.
Responsibilities
- Make infrastructure changes in CloudFormation and Terraform under the supervision of a senior engineer.
- Configure Lambda, API Gateway, KMS, and WAF as needed.
- Maintain and update documentation to reflect system changes.
- Proactively identify and report any discrepancies or issues in the system.
- Seek guidance and clarification when unsure about technical decisions.
Requirements
- Proven commercial experience with AWS services.
- Working knowledge of CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Familiarity with Lambda and API Gateway.
- Strong attention to security and best practices in infrastructure implementation.
- A curious mindset, seeking to understand system functionality before making changes.
