Overview
The Senior Product Designer will take ownership of the design for a key product stream within an enterprise B2B platform operating in a regulated environment. This role focuses on enhancing an established design system, making it AI-ready, and designing complex review workflows that demand precision and reliability. Working closely with engineering teams and subject-matter experts, the designer will lead projects from conception through to delivery, ensuring impactful and measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own and grow the design system, focusing on components, tokens, patterns, documentation, and governance.
- Make the design system AI-ready by implementing machine-readable tokens and clear component APIs.
- Design high-stakes review workflows including prioritisation, risk flags, and audit trails from inception.
- Prototype in code, collaborating directly in GitHub and the codebase with engineers.
- Lead design projects from initial framing to shipping, focusing on measurable outcomes.
- Ensure tight scope management and continuous improvement post-launch after initial deployment.
- Work closely with subject-matter experts to align on design requirements and functionality.
- Utilize AI tools in both design and build processes, contributing insights on their effectiveness.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with design systems, preferably having built or scaled one.
- Proficient in using GitHub and working within a front-end codebase.
- Proven track record of shipping products in enterprise B2B settings, ideally within regulated environments.
- Demonstrable examples of design outcomes and their impact on the product and user experience.
- Strong understanding of complex data-heavy interfaces, including prioritisation and traceability features.
- A sense of urgency and ownership, comfortable as the sole designer for the product stream.
- Experience with design tokens in production environments, such as Style Dictionary or Figma variables.
- Familiarity with user research and usability testing practices is a plus.
