Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team focused on major infrastructure and engineering projects. The role involves overseeing the commercial management and contractual administration of significant contracts, ensuring positive outcomes and strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with senior management and support the development of the commercial team while contributing to the overall profitability and performance of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Take full commercial responsibility for contracts from award through to completion.
- Deliver or exceed profitability and cash collection targets.
- Manage change control processes, compensation events, variations, and claims.
- Ensure robust cost control and effective cash flow management.
- Lead subcontract procurement activities and manage supply chain agreements.
- Administer contractual notifications including Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
- Manage contract close-out activities and agreement of final accounts.
- Produce regular commercial reports covering contract performance, risk management, cash forecasting, and profitability.
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
- Experience managing contracts valued between £5 million and £30 million.
- Strong knowledge and experience administering various forms of contract.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Strong commercial awareness with a proactive and analytical approach.
- MRICS accreditation is desirable.
