Overview
The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in designing and implementing solutions for complex projects within the insurance sector. Working autonomously, the contractor will engage with stakeholders to ensure technical solutions are effectively communicated, while also collaborating in an agile environment on both front-end and back-end technologies. This position focuses on delivering high-quality code and solutions on the Azure platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-level designs and manage solutions for insurance applications.
- Translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Collaborate within an agile team to ensure timely project delivery.
- Implement frontend functionalities using React, TypeScript, and associated tools.
- Create and maintain backend APIs using TypeScript on Node.js and Azure Functions.
- Utilize Microsoft SQL Server for database management and data modelling practices.
- Employ testing frameworks for unit and integration tests consistently.
- Leverage Azure services for application hosting and deployment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a software engineer with a focus on high-level designs and solutions.
- Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with Azure services including Azure Functions and Azure SQL Database.
- Familiarity with data modelling best practices and database management.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Experience with testing tools like Jest, Testing Library, and Playwright is a plus.
- Knowledge of Terraform/OpenTofu for infrastructure management is advantageous.
