Overview
The Senior Solutions Architect will lead a critical systems replacement initiative aimed at modernizing core business operations. Collaborating closely with the CTO and Director of Engineering, the contractor will assess current architectures, design scalable solutions, and oversee vendor selection to ensure alignment with organizational growth objectives. The role is pivotal in establishing integration architecture and defining a clear transition roadmap to facilitate the migration from legacy systems to a modern AI-driven SaaS environment.
Responsibilities
- Understand and document the current technology architecture and integration points.
- Design a scalable Azure-based event-driven architecture to replace legacy systems.
- Own the integration architecture across various operational and third-party systems.
- Define data architecture and data flows into analytics and machine learning platforms.
- Assess vendor compatibility with the target architecture and ensure technical assurance.
- Review vendor designs to ensure security, scalability, and compliance with enterprise standards.
- Define and oversee the transition roadmap from current systems to new solutions, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Enterprise Architect on system replacement or modernization projects.
- Strong technical expertise in cloud solutions, particularly Azure, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience managing architecture within complex operational environments and multiple system integrations.
- Solid understanding of data architecture and platforms such as Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience with technical assurance in vendor-led SaaS procurement and implementation.
- Ability to identify gaps in current and target architectures and develop transition strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with senior stakeholders and vendors.
