Overview
The AWS Platform Architect will be integral to a significant cloud-platform project focused on establishing a robust high-performance AWS network architecture tailored for demanding media workflows. This remote role involves designing and delivering a proof of concept to enhance hybrid networking capabilities, ensuring seamless connectivity between data centers and AWS using Direct Connect. The architect will work closely with the project team to implement advanced networking solutions that support virtual workstations and shared storage, addressing immediate project needs with the potential for long-term engagement.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a proof of concept for AWS networking solutions.
- Implement AWS Direct Connect for hybrid connectivity between data centers and AWS.
- Collaborate with the project team to refine the architecture for cloud-based workflows.
- Produce high-level and low-level design documents to guide implementation.
- Ensure network security, monitoring, and routing controls are in place.
- Design resilient connectivity solutions, including failover and redundancy.
- Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for deployment.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the AWS networking infrastructure.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS networking and platform architecture.
- Proven experience designing and implementing AWS Direct Connect solutions.
- Strong understanding of BGP, private and transit VIFs, and Direct Connect Gateway.
- Experience with Transit Gateway, VPC routing, and multi-account or multi-region setups.
- Ability to design resilient network connectivity solutions.
- Familiarity with network security, DNS, and routing controls.
- Experience in producing high-level and low-level designs for implementation.
- Proficiency in using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
