Overview
The Senior Solutions Architect will lead the data architecture for a dynamic online marketplace, facilitating a major technology transformation primarily on Google Cloud Platform. This role involves optimizing data models and establishing a cost-efficient data strategy, while also integrating data science capabilities within the organization. The contractor will collaborate with a fragmented data team, advocating for the alignment under technical leadership to enhance productivity and analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Own the data architecture for a high-volume online marketplace.
- Optimize data models and implement cost-management structures for GCP.
- Define and implement a comprehensive data strategy from scratch.
- Lead efforts toward a self-service reporting model and analytics.
- Advise on structural changes to unify the data team under technical leadership.
- Collaborate on integrating data science initiatives within the seller side.
Requirements
- Senior solutions architecture experience on large-scale data platforms.
- Deep knowledge of GCP data tooling: BigQuery, DBT, Data Stream.
- Proven track record of optimizing GCP data models for cost-effectiveness.
- Experience in building and scaling self-service reporting and analytics.
- Ability to create a comprehensive data strategy from inception.
- Familiarity with transitioning reporting tools or embedding data science in product teams is a plus.
