Overview
The Senior Test Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of software and infrastructure testing across various client projects. This contract position involves extensive onsite travel across the UK and requires expertise in Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) and quality assurance processes within diverse environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dedicated team of Quality Engineers committed to delivering exceptional consultancy services while continuously improving their skill sets.
Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive testing of physical infrastructure and hardware, including installation and validation.
- Plan and execute Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) to ensure systems are production-ready.
- Perform resilience and recovery testing, focusing on backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
- Test system deployments, migrations, and upgrades, with a focus on cloud migration activities.
- Investigate and identify root causes of issues through system monitoring and auditing.
- Utilize trends and analytics to monitor system performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with system security principles during testing of infrastructure and network environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality across the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience in Quality Assurance and testing of networks and infrastructure environments.
- Proficiency in testing physical infrastructure and hardware components.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, specifically AWS.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including routers and connectivity systems.
- Proven experience working with Linux systems and virtualized environments.
- Knowledge of operational resilience and risk management in complex systems.
- Expertise in applying analytical approaches to monitor and improve system performance.
- Active SC Clearance is essential for this role.
