Overview
The Senior Test Engineer role involves onsite testing across various UK locations, with a focus on ensuring the quality of infrastructure and network environments. The contractor will collaborate with a diverse team within a leading Quality Engineering consultancy, driving improvements through Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) while continually expanding technical skills and knowledge. The position is a contract opportunity, requiring active SC clearance and offering a chance to extend beyond six months.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) for various systems and infrastructure.
- Plan and execute testing procedures for system deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
- Perform resilience and recovery testing, including disaster recovery processes.
- Collaborate with teams to enhance product quality through rigorous testing methodologies.
- Investigate and analyze system issues to identify root causes and improve performance.
- Support cloud migration activities and test cloud-based infrastructure environments.
- Maintain documentation of testing processes and results for compliance and improvement.
- Engage in continuous learning to adapt to new technologies and testing practices.
Requirements
- Commercial experience in Quality Assurance and testing within infrastructure environments.
- Deep understanding of network infrastructure, including routers and access points.
- Experience with AWS and cloud-based systems, including testing cloud migrations.
- Proficiency in testing physical infrastructure and conducting installation, configuration, and validation.
- Familiarity with Linux systems and virtualised environments.
- Experience in resilience and recovery testing, including backup and restore processes.
- Knowledge of system security principles and testing secure environments.
- Strong analytical skills to use trends for monitoring system performance and identifying issues.
