Overview
The Senior Windows & Linux Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing complex enterprise infrastructure for an international client. This long-term freelance position involves both on-site and remote work, allowing for collaboration with various teams to enhance system performance and reliability. The contractor will leverage their extensive experience in Windows and Linux environments to troubleshoot and implement improvements across critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in enterprise infrastructure.
- Implement patching, hardening, and system administration tasks.
- Automate processes using PowerShell and/or Bash scripting.
- Support virtualization technologies such as VMware.
- Collaborate with teams to drive technical improvements in infrastructure operations.
- Take ownership of infrastructure operations and incident responses.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Solid background in enterprise infrastructure management.
- Proven troubleshooting and incident resolution abilities.
- Experience in patching, hardening, and system administration.
- Proficiency in automation/scripting with PowerShell and/or Bash.
- Familiarity with VMware or other virtualization technologies is a plus.
- Experience in energy, utilities, telecommunications, or similar environments is preferred.
