Overview
The Senior AWS DevOps Engineer role focuses on architecting and automating critical cloud infrastructure for a high-profile Home Office initiative. The contractor will work directly with senior stakeholders, taking ownership of secure platform automation and robust CI/CD pipelines within a dynamic and high-autonomy environment. This position is ideal for candidates with active SC clearance or those eligible for it, who wish to contribute to national systems.
Responsibilities
- Architect cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS services.
- Implement secure platform automation and resilient CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Utilize containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver impactful cloud-native architectures.
- Apply DevSecOps principles to refine security practices on the platform.
- Write scripts for CI/CD processes using Python and Bash.
Requirements
- Active SC clearance or eligibility for SC clearance.
- Extensive experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Practical knowledge of containerization with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD tools including GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Understanding of security principles, particularly in hardened Linux environments.
