Overview
The SharePoint / Copilot Consultant role is a part-time contract focused on enhancing enterprise AI knowledge management within Microsoft 365 environments. Working mostly remotely, the consultant will assess existing SharePoint architectures, design future knowledge frameworks, and collaborate with an AI Architect and Delivery Lead to ensure effective implementation. This position emphasizes architecture and advisory support while requiring minimal travel to the Reading/Slough area.
Responsibilities
- Assess the existing SharePoint estate and identify improvement priorities.
- Review permissions and governance to uncover security risks.
- Design the target knowledge architecture for SharePoint, including navigation and content types.
- Define governance standards for content management and site lifecycle.
- Produce architecture documents and a prioritized implementation roadmap.
- Provide technical guidance to implementation teams and support business pilots.
- Lead stakeholder workshops to transfer knowledge to internal teams.
Requirements
- Experience with Copilot readiness or enterprise knowledge transformation programs.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications are advantageous.
- Extensive experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 architecture.
- Proven knowledge in information architecture, metadata, and content structures.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Search and its impact on 365 Copilot retrieval.
- Familiarity with Copilot Studio and its enterprise knowledge applications.
- Experience with SharePoint security, permissions, and information governance.
- Ability to develop remediation roadmaps and provide architectural assurance.
