Overview
The Shopify Developer will join a fast-growing digital commerce group dedicated to helping international brands successfully launch and navigate new markets. Working collaboratively with the Client Onboarding and Digital Innovation teams, this role focuses on developing and customizing Shopify storefronts while also contributing to broader technical and digital initiatives. The contractor will have significant ownership over their work, influencing technical solutions in a dynamic, fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance bespoke Shopify themes using Liquid, JavaScript, and modern CSS.
- Build sophisticated storefront functionality, including AJAX cart experiences and predictive search.
- Improve site speed, mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility.
- Extend Shopify capabilities through Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, and Shopify Flow.
- Investigate and resolve frontend and theme-related issues efficiently.
- Work with Git and Shopify CLI to maintain development workflows and manage deployments.
- Translate design concepts into polished, responsive, and accurate user interfaces.
- Produce clean, maintainable, and reusable code scalable across multiple projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Shopify developer, with strong skills in Liquid, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Experience in developing custom functionality within Shopify and integrating third-party applications.
- Knowledge of site speed optimization and best practices for mobile responsiveness.
- Familiarity with Git version control and Shopify CLI.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving frontend issues.
- Strong understanding of user experience and accessibility principles.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
