Overview
We are looking for a Content Developer to join a publishing company on a 3-month contract basis, working 2-3 days per week. This role focuses on restructuring and standardizing journal guidelines by converting editorial content into structured JSON for web publication. The successful candidate will collaborate with the team to create a modular component-driven architecture and will engage in basic scripting for automation.
Responsibilities
- Convert plain text editorial guidelines into structured JSON following defined templates.
- Map content fields to their corresponding HTML/template structures.
- Work with spreadsheets and source documents to populate structured content.
- Identify common and journal-specific components for a modular content structure.
- Troubleshoot content and data mapping issues as the project evolves.
- Use scripting (Python or JavaScript) to automate elements of the content transformation process where applicable.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of JSON and modular content structures.
- Experience converting plain text and spreadsheets into structured formats.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with ambiguous content.
- Experience in editorial content development or similar roles is a plus.
