Site Construction Manager

Overview

In this role, the Site Construction Manager will oversee the execution of a significant gas infrastructure project, ensuring the delivery meets safety, quality, and performance standards. The position is hands-on and site-based, focusing on the management of daily construction activities while coordinating subcontractors and adhering to regulatory compliance. The manager will engage with project stakeholders and lead a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily site activities for a major gas infrastructure project.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate multiple subcontractors and suppliers effectively.
  • Implement and maintain construction safety management practices.
  • Oversee risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work processes.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and support contract administration.
  • Foster a safety and performance-oriented culture among teams.
  • Ensure documentation adheres to CDM Regulations and health and safety law.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction management on large, complex projects.
  • Background in gas transmission/distribution or related energy infrastructure.
  • Strong contractor management skills with a focus on performance and compliance.
  • Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Experience in quality management systems and environmental compliance.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage teams effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card, and First Aid at Work certification.
