Overview
In this role, the Site Construction Manager will oversee the execution of a significant gas infrastructure project, ensuring the delivery meets safety, quality, and performance standards. The position is hands-on and site-based, focusing on the management of daily construction activities while coordinating subcontractors and adhering to regulatory compliance. The manager will engage with project stakeholders and lead a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily site activities for a major gas infrastructure project.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate multiple subcontractors and suppliers effectively.
- Implement and maintain construction safety management practices.
- Oversee risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work processes.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and support contract administration.
- Foster a safety and performance-oriented culture among teams.
- Ensure documentation adheres to CDM Regulations and health and safety law.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction management on large, complex projects.
- Background in gas transmission/distribution or related energy infrastructure.
- Strong contractor management skills with a focus on performance and compliance.
- Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Experience in quality management systems and environmental compliance.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage teams effectively.
- Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card, and First Aid at Work certification.
