Overview
We are seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer on a contract basis to join a rapidly growing tech firm focused on modernizing their platform. In this fully remote role, you will collaborate with a skilled engineering team to design and optimize scalable backend services using Rust and Java while developing high-performance frontend applications with React and Python. This position is ideal for a contractor who thrives on tackling complex challenges and influencing architectural decisions across various technology stacks.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build reliable, high-performance applications focusing on scalability and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain modern customer-facing applications with React.
- Contribute to backend services and APIs using Python.
- Manage complex features from architectural design to production deployment.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and platform teams to deliver impactful functionality.
- Influence engineering standards and architectural direction across the platform.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding and testing.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack/Backend Engineer in production environments.
- Strong backend experience in Rust and/or Java, with commercial exposure to both preferred.
- Proficient in developing modern frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on experience with Python, including backend services or application development.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and scalable architecture.
- Experience in designing and maintaining production-grade systems.
- Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted development tools in daily workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development practices.
