Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a leading engineering organization specializing in offshore oil and gas projects. The role focuses on the structural analysis, assessment, and design of offshore structures and equipment, emphasizing advanced simulation and finite element analysis using ANSYS. The successful candidate will collaborate with a skilled engineering team and will be key to delivering complex projects from concept to execution over an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations for offshore structures and equipment.
- Develop and execute finite element analysis (FEA) models using ANSYS.
- Conduct assessments relating to strength, fatigue, buckling, lifting, transportation and installation load cases.
- Prepare and review engineering reports, technical specifications and design documentation.
- Support concept, FEED and detailed design activities.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and client specifications.
- Provide technical support throughout project execution and delivery.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in structural engineering.
- Advanced experience using ANSYS for finite element and structural analysis.
- Previous experience within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of offshore design methodologies and structural behaviour.
- Experience producing engineering calculations, technical reports and design documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team environment.
