Overview
We are seeking an experienced System Test Engineer to support Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for integrated products within a product development environment. The successful contractor will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design and execute testing protocols for complex electromechanical systems, ensuring comprehensive documentation and adherence to traceability standards throughout the process. This role requires a strong understanding of testing integrated machines that incorporate hardware, firmware, control systems, and software.
Responsibilities
- Design V&V activities for complex, integrated machines.
- Create test plans and detailed test protocols, including test cases and methods.
- Support test execution, documentation, and anomaly management.
- Produce clear technical reports and test documentation.
- Develop templates for test documentation and reporting.
- Lead reviews of test protocols with wider engineering teams.
- Maintain clear documentation and traceability throughout the V&V process.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and utilize initiative to solve problems.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing V&V activities within a product development environment.
- Experience testing complex, integrated machines/products.
- Strong understanding of electromechanical hardware, firmware, control systems, and software.
- Excellent documentation, planning, and reporting skills, especially regarding traceability.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with engineering teams and leading protocol reviews.
- Experience within a New Product Development (NPD) environment.
- Ability to work independently and continuously develop technical knowledge.
- Interest in physics, biology, or fluid mechanics is desirable.
