Treasury Accountant

Overview

The Interim Treasury Accountant will support the finance and treasury teams of a global technology and manufacturing group during a transitional phase following a major transaction. This hybrid role involves hands-on treasury accounting, including the accurate recording of transactions and collaboration with global finance teams to streamline processes and implement a new Treasury Management System. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of the new Group Treasury function while ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily recording of treasury transactions, preparing and posting journals in SAP.
  • Perform bank, intercompany loan, and treasury balance sheet reconciliations, resolving differences.
  • Calculate and account for interest and other treasury-related accruals.
  • Load intercompany loan and interest balances into Oracle FCCS and resolve any mismatches.
  • Review treasury-related accounting across international entities for appropriate consolidation treatment.
  • Support accounting for dividends, withholding tax, and other Group Treasury activities.
  • Provide back-office treasury cover, including deal confirmations where needed.
  • Collaborate with finance, treasury, and IT teams to improve processes and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with relevant treasury accounting experience.
  • Strong multi-currency experience with a solid understanding of foreign currency accounting and financing transactions.
  • Experience with SAP and consolidation/reporting systems, particularly Oracle FCCS, is advantageous.
  • Comfortable with posting journals and working through detailed reconciliations.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex treasury issues using technical accounting knowledge.
  • Organised and accurate, with the capacity to work autonomously to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to improving processes.
