Overview
The Data Migration Analyst will play a vital role in a global transformation programme, focused on the migration of data for a major multi-site UK organisation. This position involves engaging in technical data preparation tasks such as mapping, cleansing, and validating data in advance of a significant ERP system upgrade, collaborating closely with project stakeholders to ensure successful data transition and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Map source data against target data models and apply agreed mapping rules.
- Cleanse and prepare data to a load-ready standard.
- Identify and resolve data-quality issues and exceptions.
- Support data validation and review migration outputs with relevant SMEs.
- Document mapping rules, transformations, and data decisions.
- Work across multiple data domains and applications.
- Liaise with data owners, application owners, and operational SMEs to resolve queries.
- Follow a structured data migration methodology and adhere to agreed delivery timelines.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in Data Migration and Data Preparation.
- Strong skills in Data Mapping, Data Cleansing, and Data Validation.
- Proficient in Excel and experienced with SQL and/or Python.
- Experience with Power Query, working with structured datasets.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to established processes.
- Familiarity with SAP / SAP S/4HANA and ERP transformation programmes is desirable.
- Experience with Master Data Management and data-quality tools is a plus.
