Overview
The Product Consultant will play a vital role in a major digital transformation programme for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), working remotely on a contract basis. Collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, the consultant will help shape product direction and ensure effective delivery of user-centred digital services that impact millions across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage product backlogs throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Gather, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and discovery sessions.
- Lead backlog refinement and support Agile ceremonies.
- Prioritise features and manage dependencies across delivery teams.
- Define and manage Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects and designers to deliver user-centred solutions.
Requirements
- Experience working as a Product Consultant, Product Owner, or Agile Business Analyst.
- Strong background delivering digital products within Agile environments.
- Proven experience managing and prioritising product backlogs.
- Excellent workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong requirements gathering and user story writing experience.
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience working closely with software engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
