Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a specialist team focused on delivering innovative data solutions within law enforcement and digital investigations. This remote role requires transforming complex forensic datasets into structured intelligence and developing automated data processing workflows. The selected candidate will collaborate with technical specialists and subject matter experts to enhance data quality and improve investigative processes using advanced data engineering techniques.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data transformation pipelines for investigative and forensic datasets.
- Develop conversion logic to transform data into structured intelligence formats.
- Create automated workflows to process, validate, and enrich large volumes of digital evidence.
- Develop tools and services to improve the ingestion, transformation, and quality of forensic data.
- Collaborate with technical specialists to define mapping rules and transformation logic.
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts for new data services and automation.
- Produce clean, maintainable code and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Support Agile delivery within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Active SC and NPPV3 security clearances.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Java.
- Experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines or automated data processing workflows.
- Proficiency in working with structured and semi-structured data such as XML and JSON.
- Understanding of data transformation, mapping, and validation techniques.
- Experience handling large or complex datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams.
