AI DevOps Engineer

Overview

The AI DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in integrating Azure AI Foundry with existing enterprise engineering practices, focusing on the automation and governance of AI solutions. Collaborating closely with AI, DevOps, and Engineering teams, the contractor will design scalable CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes to enhance the delivery of AI-enabled applications. This position also includes establishing reusable standards and transferring knowledge to the permanent engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for AI-enabled applications and services.
  • Integrate Azure AI Foundry and AI/GenAI services into enterprise DevOps and deployment processes.
  • Build reusable Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code standards and modules, helping transition from Bicep to Terraform.
  • Establish secure and governed deployment patterns, including DevSecOps controls and audit trails.
  • Develop self-service deployment capabilities that reduce manual intervention.
  • Support AI product teams across Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
  • Implement appropriate monitoring, logging, and observability across AI platforms and services.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the SDLC through AI-enabled automation and enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience as a DevOps / Platform Engineer with a software development background.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline design and automation.
  • Practical experience with Azure AI Foundry and deploying AI/GenAI solutions in production environments.
  • Strong Terraform experience, including reusable modules and enterprise-scale Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Understanding of how AI solutions are developed, deployed, governed, and operated.
  • Experience with transitioning from manual to automated deployment processes.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with software engineers and comprehend application code.
  • Experience with C# or Java is beneficial.
