Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to contribute to a major new data platform within a highly autonomous engineering team. This remote position focuses on developing cloud infrastructure primarily on Google Cloud, with key responsibilities in Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and security protocols for restricted environments. The successful candidate will tackle significant architectural challenges while collaborating closely with engineering peers.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the cloud infrastructure for a new data platform.
- Implement and configure Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration.
- Utilize Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools for infrastructure as code.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Conduct strong Linux administration and support observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Ensure secure and hardened infrastructure within regulated environments.
- Collaborate with teams to address network and security challenges in the cloud.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in production Cloud, DevOps, or SRE roles.
- Proficiency in Google Cloud and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Strong background in CI/CD practices and tools.
- Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration.
- Familiarity with observability frameworks like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
- Experience working with restricted or regulated environments.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC) or active SC clearance is preferable.
