Overview
This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an Analytics Engineer to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge analytics infrastructure within a fast-scaling digital environment. The contractor will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement trusted data models, engage in data migration to AWS Snowflake, and enhance the self-serve analytics experience. This position focuses on data clarity, usability, and efficiency, providing the chance to shape best practices in analytics from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Ingest and migrate data sets into the AWS Snowflake platform.
- Design and implement dbt models that produce clean, consistent metrics.
- Build out orchestration pipelines using Airflow.
- Create clear documentation for dashboards, metrics, and models.
- Ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency across Snowflake.
- Support a stakeholder-first approach to data usability and access.
- Lead the design and delivery of a new semantic layer in Looker.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective data solutions.
Requirements
- Extensive experience operating within Snowflake environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and dbt, with a strong understanding of data modeling best practices.
- Experience with Airflow for data orchestration.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex needs into elegant data solutions.
- Focus on usability, documentation, and data clarity.
- Comfortable working independently in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
- Experience in rebuilding or refactoring a Looker instance is desirable.
- Familiarity with Snowflake performance tuning and cost optimization is a plus.
