Overview
In this contractor role, you will join a mobile platform team focusing on the development of a UK government app. Working in a remote-first environment, you will be responsible for building and enhancing the app's core functionalities in collaboration with QA and backend engineers, contributing to the overall stability and performance of the application.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve the common parts of the Android app using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Work on integrating features developed by other teams into the application.
- Submit code for review and provide constructive feedback on colleagues' code.
- Monitor app performance using Crashlytics and troubleshoot crashes effectively.
- Collaborate closely with QA and backend engineers to address technical risks early in the development cycle.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress and align on project objectives.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in native Android development.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Experience with Crashlytics for app stability maintenance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small team environment.
- Comfortable engaging in discussions during code reviews.
