Overview
The Android Developer will be joining a mobile platform team responsible for a UK government app, focusing on building and enhancing the application's core functionalities, such as user login and integration of features from various teams. Working primarily in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, the contractor will engage in code reviews and collaborate closely with other engineers while ensuring the stability of the app through monitoring tools like Crashlytics. This is a remote-first position with occasional in-person meetings in London.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve the common parts of the Android app using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Integrate features developed by other teams into the app.
- Conduct code reviews for personal submissions and those of peers.
- Monitor app performance using Crashlytics and address any identified issues.
- Collaborate closely with QA and backend engineers to mitigate technical risks.
- Participate in team discussions to provide input during code reviews.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in native Android development.
