Overview
As an Android Developer on a contract basis, you will join the mobile platform team responsible for enhancing a UK government app. Working primarily remotely, you will focus on developing core features in Kotlin using Jetpack Compose and collaborate with other developers and QA engineers to ensure the app's stability and performance. Your role includes reviewing code, managing app releases, and addressing technical risks as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve essential features of the Android app using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Integrate functionalities developed by other teams into the app.
- Conduct code reviews for your own and others' contributions.
- Monitor app performance post-release using Crashlytics and resolve any issues.
- Collaborate closely with QA and backend engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Identify and communicate potential technical risks during development.
Requirements
- Proven commercial experience in native Android development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Experience using Crashlytics for maintaining app stability.
- Ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced team environment.
