Civil Works Engineer

Overview

The Civil Works Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the Civil & Structural Lead in the delivery of a significant industrial redevelopment project in North Wales. This position focuses on ensuring that civil works, including buildings, foundations, and drainage systems, meet project standards for quality, budget, and timeline. The engineer will collaborate closely with project teams and provide essential site support for the ongoing construction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop civil engineering solutions for foundations, concrete structures, and buildings.
  • Prepare drainage, sewage, and plumbing layouts within buildings.
  • Create detailed bills of quantities (BOQs) for civil works and buildings, as well as material take-offs (MTOs) for steel structures.
  • Review and check engineering and vendor documentation.
  • Approve civil engineering and construction drawings.
  • Verify structural BIM models and facilitate BIM coordination.
  • Compose technical documentation for engineering activities and subcontracting.
  • Provide field engineering support on site and conduct technical checks throughout the project.

Requirements

  • BSc in Civil Engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Civil Engineer or Civil Works Engineer in the Oil & Gas, Energy, or major industrial sectors.
  • Strong expertise in buildings, drainage, sewage systems, foundations, and concrete structures.
  • Experience in reviewing engineering and vendor documentation.
  • Ability to support construction and site activities.
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes is essential.
  • Experience with BIM coordination.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, particularly Excel, and familiarity with Navisworks, SP3D, Mat 3D, and Foundation 3D is preferred.
