Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Azure Security Engineer to join a cyber security team on a 5-month contract basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with extensive experience in Microsoft Azure security technologies and a keen interest in enhancing cyber resilience within enterprise environments. The engineer will focus on implementing and securing various Microsoft security solutions, collaborating with different teams to ensure robust protection of cloud infrastructures.
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Azure security and related technologies.
- Design, implement, and support enterprise security controls across Azure and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Engineer and optimise Microsoft Sentinel for enhanced security monitoring.
- Implement and manage Microsoft Defender capabilities, including Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud.
- Develop threat-detection use cases and security monitoring capabilities.
- Design secure cloud and hybrid architecture patterns with technical guidance to project teams.
Requirements
- Proven Azure Security Engineering experience in large enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of Azure security services for IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid setups.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR.
- Understanding of cloud and network security solutions, including Azure Firewall and network segmentation.
- Collaborative experience with Security Operations and Cloud Engineering teams.
- Microsoft AZ-500 and SC-200 certifications preferred; SC-100, SC-300 or AZ-104 are also advantageous.
