Overview
We are seeking a Cyber Security Consultant with a focus on Vulnerability Remediation Governance and Management for an initial 5-week contract, with potential for extension or permanent placement. This role will involve leading remediation processes while collaborating closely with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Application teams within a complex and regulated technology environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing vulnerabilities and driving improvement actions across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end vulnerability remediation governance process from identification to closure.
- Use Tenable to monitor vulnerabilities and manage remediation progress.
- Establish risk-based prioritization for remediation efforts.
- Coordinate and lead remediation burn-down sessions with technical teams.
- Manage vulnerability risk registers and ensure accountability for remediation actions.
- Produce operational and management reports on vulnerability status and remediation trends.
- Support audit activities by maintaining evidence of remediation decisions.
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance is essential starting from day one.
- Proven experience in vulnerability remediation governance and management.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Tenable, ideally Tenable.io or Tenable One.
- Experience in translating vulnerability scanner findings into action plans.
- Understanding of the vulnerability lifecycle management process.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge technical teams.
- Familiarity with security and risk frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001.
- Experience in public-sector or highly regulated environments is desirable.
