Overview
The Data Engineer will collaborate closely with operational and technology stakeholders within a private equity-backed financial services organization. This role, provided on a 6-month contract basis, focuses on enhancing the quality, consistency, and accessibility of key management information by building trusted data foundations and supporting senior leadership in data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data models within a modern cloud data warehouse environment.
- Establish consistent business definitions and trusted reporting standards.
- Investigate and resolve complex data-quality and reconciliation issues.
- Design and optimize data ingestion processes from multiple source systems.
- Build and enhance management information reporting for senior leadership.
- Support point-in-time and historical reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and spreadsheet-based processes.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable data solutions.
Requirements
- Hands-on expertise with Snowflake.
- Advanced SQL and data warehousing experience.
- Experience with Alteryx.
- Proven track record investigating, validating, and improving data quality.
- Experience integrating and consolidating data from multiple systems and sources.
- Ability to build reporting and management information that supports business decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with direct interaction experience with senior business leaders.
- Comfortable operating in a greenfield environment with a high degree of autonomy.
