Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer Contractor to join a growing Data Engineering team for an initial 6-month remote contract. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering teams to design and implement modern data solutions for clients in regulated industries such as Financial Services, Energy, Legal, and Pharmaceuticals.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines.
- Develop data ingestion, transformation, and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Support data modelling, analytics, and visualization initiatives.
- Apply best practices in Data Engineering, Agile, and DevOps delivery.
Requirements
- Proven Data Engineering experience in regulated sectors such as Financial Services, Legal, Pharma, or Energy.
- Strong SQL proficiency.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory and Azure SQL.
- Experience with Apache Spark, preferably using Python (PySpark) or Scala.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Azure (AWS/GCP also accepted).
- Knowledge of Git version control and CI/CD practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
