Overview
We are seeking a Contract Data Engineer to join a fintech business undergoing significant reporting transformation. The role focuses on migrating data from legacy systems to a modern Azure/Microsoft Fabric environment, and the successful candidate will work closely with technical teams to ensure effective data management and reporting. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement with a commitment of three days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Support the migration of reporting procedures to a new Foundation data platform.
- Manage schema mapping, transformations, and reporting validation.
- Build and enhance ETL pipelines across multiple data sources.
- Design Fact and Dimension models using Kimball principles.
- Implement GitHub version control and engineering best practices.
- Contribute to technical discussions and provide best practice recommendations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Data Engineering with strong SQL skills.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines, schema mapping, and data modelling.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
