Overview
We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to oversee a critical data integration project within a Microsoft-centric environment. In this hands-on leadership role, you will collaborate closely with Analytics and Power BI teams, guiding the technical onboarding of a new business-critical data source. This position not only focuses on technical delivery but also emphasizes stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines.
- Provide technical leadership across Data Engineering activities.
- Work closely with Analytics and Power BI teams to ensure data is fit for reporting requirements.
- Establish best practices for data ingestion, transformation and governance.
- Support and mentor Data Engineers within the team.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Drive adoption of modern Microsoft data platform technologies.
Requirements
- Strong experience in a Lead or Senior Data Engineering role.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure data services.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and modern data architecture.
- Experience integrating complex source systems and third-party platforms.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Experience designing and building cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
