Overview
The Data Protection Support Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and processing of personal data within the organisation. This position involves close collaboration with the Assistant Data Protection Officer and various teams to uphold data protection standards and comply with relevant legislation. The role's primary focus is on supporting the organisation's data protection initiatives, handling Data Subject Access Requests, and contributing to the development of related policies and training.
Responsibilities
- Support the Assistant Data Protection Officer in managing data protection trackers and workflows.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the organisation's data map and auditing procedures.
- Ensure that Data Subject Access Requests and Erasure requests are managed in accordance with statutory timelines.
- Oversee the Data Protection mailbox, ensuring prompt and effective management.
- Provide guidance on email security and collaborate with the Cyber Security team as needed.
- Contribute to the creation and review of data protection policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation and provide accurate advice to internal teams.
- Support awareness training on data protection across the organisation.
