Overview
As a Contract Data Scientist focusing on Search and Sort Order, you will work in a collaborative environment where your expertise will directly influence commercial outcomes and enhance customer engagement. You will design and optimize search ranking methods while utilizing machine learning approaches to improve search functionalities on a large-scale digital platform. Your role involves analyzing data, conducting experiments, and communicating insights to stakeholders to drive strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Improve search ranking and recommendation performance across a large-scale digital platform.
- Design, build, and evaluate new search and sort order methodologies to optimize relevance and customer engagement.
- Develop and apply learning-to-rank and machine learning approaches to improve search outcomes.
- Run A/B tests, analyze results, and measure performance against key business metrics including conversion and revenue impact.
- Build dashboards and reporting tools to communicate experiment outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Deploy machine learning solutions into production environments and support ongoing optimization.
Requirements
- Strong experience using Python and SQL for data science and analytics.
- Experience working with Snowflake and AWS within production environments.
- Proven capability in search ranking, recommendation systems, or relevance optimization.
- Strong understanding of experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and statistical analysis.
- Experience measuring and reporting on KPIs including conversion and customer engagement.
- Capability to deploy and maintain machine learning solutions in production.
- Experience with learning-to-rank methodologies is highly desirable.
- Exposure to tools such as Metaflow, XGBoost, or Streamlit would be beneficial.
