Overview
This role is for a Lead Node.js Engineer focusing on the ongoing development and enhancement of a proprietary commercial data platform, supporting key engineering functions during a planned leave cover. The contractor will work closely with commercial, product, and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement scalable solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives. The position offers an opportunity to mentor fellow engineers while driving architectural decisions and managing technical discussions.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and enhancement of a commercial data platform connecting internal systems with HubSpot.
- Drive architectural decisions and create scalable solutions for multiple stakeholders.
- Collaborate with commercial, product, and engineering teams to gather requirements.
- Support maintenance, optimization, and feature development of Node.js and TypeScript services.
- Align platform design with business objectives in coordination with HubSpot teams.
- Identify project dependencies and manage technical discussions throughout delivery.
- Mentor engineers and facilitate technical growth within teams.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions in modern development environments.
- Understanding of HubSpot architecture, integrations, and capabilities.
- Proven experience with Agentic AI technologies and solutions.
- Strong system design and software architecture abilities.
- Experience mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth.
- Ownership of complex engineering challenges with pragmatic solution delivery.
- Exposure to DevOps practices is beneficial; experience with Kafka or event-driven architectures is advantageous.
