Desktop Support Engineer

Overview

The Desktop Support Engineer will provide immediate, hands-on technical support to users on various desktop computing devices, including laptops and printers, in an on-site setting. Collaborating closely with the IT team, this role focuses on diagnosing and resolving issues to ensure efficient technology operations within the organization. The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with users to help maintain a productive IT environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktop computers and peripherals.
  • Install and configure desktop systems and software applications.
  • Support users with printer setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT devices and ensure proper documentation of incidents.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to escalate complex technical problems as needed.
  • Ensure stable and secure operations of IT environments through effective support processes.

Requirements

  • Strong skills in desktop computer hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Proven technical support and troubleshooting skills in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with printer support, including setup and common issue resolution.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (e.g., Windows) and common office software.
  • Ability to work independently on-site with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service orientation and clear communication skills.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft) are preferred.
