Overview
The role is for a Contract Senior Backend Developer specializing in C# and .NET, focused on enhancing a large-scale software platform. The contractor will work closely with an established engineering team, contributing to backend development, API design, and application performance optimization. This position provides an opportunity to engage in modern development practices and utilize AI tools to improve productivity and software delivery, all within a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services using C# and .NET.
- Work extensively with SQL Server, including data modeling and performance optimization.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrations.
- Build scalable services in a distributed software environment.
- Write high-quality unit and automated tests.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong experience in C# and .NET development.
- Proficiency in SQL Server and unit testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and modern DevOps practices.
- Understanding of AI-assisted software development tools.
- Experience with building or integrating AI-driven functionality is a plus.
- Knowledge of AWS/cloud-based architectures is advantageous, but not essential.
- Exposure to distributed systems and high-scale applications is useful.
